San Fermin Festival 2025 schedule
July 6th – Opening Ceremony
The Opening Ceremony "Chupinazo" of the San Fermin Festival starts at noon on July 6th. The Plaza Consistorial is packed with spectators, eagerly anticipating the blast of the rocket, signaling the start of the festival. July 7th -1st Bullrun/Encierro
The first bull run takes place on July 7th. By 7 a.m., the streets are cordoned off in preparation for the encierro, which starts at 8 a.m. This is typically the busiest day of the festival, with the highest number of runners and spectators.
At 10:30 a.m., the effigy of Saint Fermin is carried from the church of San Lorenzo and followed by a procession of the city council dressed in ceremonial regalia, clergy, and locals. During the San Fermin Procession, the "Gigantes" (4-meter high papier-mâché big head figures) dance along, entertaining children.
July 7th also marks the first night of traditional bullfights, held at the Plaza de Toros at 6:30 p.m.
July 8th - July 14th – daily encierros and bull fights in Pamplona
The morning bull runs and evening bullfights continue through the week. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are less crowded compared to the Opening Ceremonies.
Festival crowds will increase over the weekend, as more Spanish residents arrive to see the final days of the Pamplona bull runs.
July 14th - Closing Ceremony- Pobre de Mi
The Running of the bulls 2020 schedule will conclude on Tuesday, July 14th, with a candlelight ceremony held at the Plaza Consistorial. At the stroke of midnight, a rocket is fired to mark the end of the fiesta, and crowds sing “Pobre de Mi.” Plan to be on a balcony no later than 10 p.m. to see this beautiful ceremony.
