No matter who you are or what your budget, the best place, besides running, to see the running of the bulls (encierro) is from a Standard or VIP Balcony.

 

If you think you can just srtoll up to the barriers at 7a.m. & get a good view...well youre gonna be sorely disappointed! You will have to fight you way in through lots of drunk people who have stayed up all night partying or else you will be 6 deep at the barrier fence, as people start queing at 5 a.m. to get a decent view!

Housing is very often the most difficult obsticle to fully enjoy Sanfermines, as the the whole place is book-out particularly by the regulars & previous years participants.

 

Staying outside Pamplona is another option that people have used but then they end up travelling on the road from 3-4 a.m. or so to head to Pamplona to be there before 7a.m.as the streets get closed off! After a night of festivities & partying, maybe that´s not such a good idea after all?

 

The streets of the old town will be jammed packed by 7am & that´s before you find a parking spot....plus travel in & out to pamplona, maybe this will explain better to you why people stay up all night hoping to get a glimpse of the bulls as thay pass by!

Ayuntamiento (Town Hall) sits on the Plaza Consistoral & this is where the Chupinazo (Opening Ceremony) takes place at 12 Noon July 6th each year.

How do Balcony rentals work?

 

Normally, people who come to Pamplona for the running of the bulls bring other people with them for company & "proof" that the bull runner really did it (usually in the form of a photo or video). If you want to be immortalized on film while you´re running with the bulls, you´re friends must be in a strategic location! Sitting on top of the barrier fence of the Pamplona bullrun is pointless. A strategicly located Balcony right on the route of the bullrun is a good recommendation. Balcony rentals work in 3 ways:

 

1. You can rent a pamplona apartment that faces onto Mercaderes or Estafeta streets. The cost for an apartment on the bullrun route will vary & you can expect to pay €1000 per night for an apartment with balcony in Pamplona.

 

2. You can plan ahead & book a pamplona Balcony online. i´ve tried to offer as many balcony spots as possible for the running of the bulls through SanFerminTravelCentral.com

 

3. You can show up on the morning & hope for the best. You can stand below & wave wads of money & beg Pamplona owners above & still you wont get invited up! Its an option that just might work!!
