About San Fermin

San Fermin was a Christian missionary & first bishop of Amiens, France. He was beheaded at only 31 years old. the patron Saint of Amiens, Lesaka & Pamplona & Co-patron of Navarra.
The Sanfermines Festival has religious origins & is still honored to this day by way of the great public display of "The Procession" on the morning of July 7th each year. This religious event is in perfect unison with the "culture of the bull", a symbolic animal, & the cult of Bacchus, the "god of wine", a symbolic drink.
Sanfermines in short explanation is, a totally amazing festival world festival & the "Pamplonicas" (pamplona people) play a central role during the festivities which immediately makes the vistors to the pamplona feel very comfortable & welcome during the 9 day Fiesta....Its so much fun, more fun, fun, fun, 24/7 & fueled with lots of adreneline......its all party, fun, music, wine, dance, culture & of course bullrunning!

The San Fermin Song

A few minutes before the daily bullrun or encierro begins, the runners plead to San Fermin & sing the "San Fermin Song" 3 times before the statue of the saint adorned with the red panuelo of the peñas on the Cuesta de Santo Domingo.
Spanish: "A San Fermin pedimos, por ser nuestro patrón, nos guíe en el encierro & dándonos su bendición".
English: "To San Fermin we ask, you are our patron saint, guide us in this bullrun & give us your benediction"
